Jersey Number 2... towards the court!

"Okay students, you have got all the samples for salt analysis. Do the experiments with correct procedure and show me the observations later."

It was my chemistry practical and I was there surrounded by acids, salts and test tubes all around. I was just wondering, "What am I doing here?"

I opted for science because I wanted to. As simply as that. I never knew it would create such a havoc for me. Those acids seemed to stare me. Scare me. Push me towards the hell.

Somehow, I relaxed myself and thought that since I was there and had no other option to do anything else, I decided to do the experiment.

"what's up"

Someone patted on my shoulder. There she was, my lab partner. Always excited to do the experiments and observing the results. she was the only one who enjoyed doing what she wanted to. Deepali, was the only buddy I had in my boring medical class. I was really thankful to god for at least giving me one friend in this tiring field. She began with the experiment. There was a magnificent smile on her face while putting the paste in the charcoal cavity. She was happy because she was doing what she wanted to. I used to have the same smile.

I still remember the last time when I had that smile too...
Crowd all around. Cheering up!

Cambridge! Cambridge! Cambridge!

Cambridge! Cambridge! Cambridge!

"Let's go! I have recorded the observations," Deepali said.

"Huh?" I was busy in my thoughts.

"Come on, Let's go and show our observations."

Both of us went inside where our chemistry teacher was siting.

"Ma'am we have done," Deepali said and handed over the file to ma'am.

Suddenly, cold wind flowed in from the window.

"Anmol will you please shut the window?" Ma'am asked.

I went towards the window to close it. There it was. serene and built to perfection. Volleyball court. Our volleyball court. MY volleyball court. I tried to blink back my tears.

"Anmol!"
"Anmol!"

I didn't answer. I was so engrossed looking at each and every detail of my court where I spent happiest moments of my life.

"Hmm..even I had to leave basketball." Ms. Anupam Ma'am came close to me and said.

"Ma'am, I miss playing."

"Oh! I miss playing too." She smiled and left. It was the lunch break. Everyone left. There I was standing and remembering those delicious days. Me with my Jersey number 2, moving towards the cort....
